This recipe came out exactly like the beef tajins I’ve had in morocco. You can add walnuts to it or eat it alone. It doesn’t even need onion or garlic to be delicious. It’s also super fast to make in the instant pot!
Instant Pot Turmeric Moroccan Stew

- 1 3 or 6qt instant pot
- 1 Cutting board
- 1 Plate for beef
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 lbs Stew beef or well marbled beef
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp Ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Ground cumin
- 1 cup Chicken broth
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup Pitted prunes
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Ground pepper
- Extra salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat up olive oil in instant pot on high sauté mode. Mix ginger, turmeric, salt, and cumin in bowl and sprinkle over beef cubes. Brown beef on all sides.
- Add chicken broth to instant pot with beef. Change to high pressure cook and seal the top. Set time for 25 minutes cook time. Once cook time is up, natural release for 10 minutes.
- Take beef out of broth, and turn sauté mode to high again to cook the sauce down. Add prunes, honey, cinnamon, ad pepper. Simmer sauce and stir until it is thickened.
Notes
If you are cutting your own beef from a large slab instead of buying already cut stew beef, cut into 1.5 inches cubes.
