I’ve been trying different coffees in search of the best coffee for me. Recently I’ve been trying to buy fair trade.
Lavazza Perfetto
- Overall
- Acidity
- Sweetness
- Body
- Oiliness
- Aftertaste
- Strong and not good
Takeaways:
Fairly acidic and bitter. I personally so not like very acidic coffees because they are hard for me to drink. I prefer smooth dark roast coffees. It also has a sour aftertaste which I do not enjoy. I tried it as espresso as well and it was even worse tasting as espresso. I think it is an expensive brand because it’s known to be a good Italian coffee brand, but I did not like it.
- Used as espresso
Aldi Barissimo
- Overall
- Acidity
- Sweetness
- Body
- Oiliness
- Aftertaste
- Not that strong
Takeaways:
This is a really great coffee for an Aldi’s coffee. Aldi’s is a discount supermarket that is owned by Trader Joe’s in the USA. Usually their coffee is not the best (at least the coffee pods). This coffee is surprisingly good. It is acidic but not oily like the Lavazza. It’s dark and robust but still has a little sweetness. It is a good and inexpensive fair trade coffee. I have not tried this one as espresso.
Death Wish Coffee
- Overall
- Acidity
- Sweetness
- Body
- Oiliness
- Aftertaste
- No aftertaste
Takeaways:
I can see why this coffee is $20 per bag. It is very balanced and very well made. This is one of my favorite coffees now. It is also very caffeinated compared to other coffees. It’s delicious as an espresso if you grind the grounds finer.
- Used as espresso
