My photos for this recipe are not great because I thought this would be a very average recipe and nothing to write about. Once I tasted it though it came out with bring full of flavor for such a simple sandwich. I had to share it. To was lemony from the sumac and had a complex flavor from the curry. I actually got everything from Trader Joe’s and I was surprised with how fresh the tomatoes were for the end of October.
Simple Tomato Sandwich

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1 Fresh tomato On the vine or heirloom
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- Sprinkle Curry powder
- Sprinkle Sumac
- 2 pieces White Italian crusty bread
Instructions
- Cut the tomato into thin to medium slices (about 1/4" thick).
- Put mayonnaise on one side of the sandwich. Put Mustard on the other side. Sprinkle mayo side with curry powder and sumac.
- Add tomato into sandwich layering the thinner slices on the thicker and put sandwich together.
